Another great summer day today... which I got to spend inside answering phones at work.
During my lunch, while reading some other blogs that I follow, I found this handy bit of information:
(I totally 'borrowed' this from the Seattle Umbrella Conspiracy)
Good to know in case you ever need to control your diet.... when you're a zombie.
And, speaking of zombies, here is some helpful information for those of us among the still-living;
(I believe this came from Dave's Longbox a while back)
Never let it be said that I don't provide a public service once in a while.

In other news:
27 years ago today, Coca-Cola switched back to their "original formula" after an unsuccessful attempt at trying out "New Coke".
Wow... 27 years. I'm getting older every day.

And speaking of 27;
Happy Birthday to Jessica Simpson. She's 27 yrs today. (hmmm... coincidence?)
A little sparse in the brain dept., but I wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating crackers.

Another evening of mango margaritas at home.
Tonight I drank the equivalent of half a pitcher, then topped that off with a rootbeer float (spiked with rootbeer schnapps). Woo-hoo!
.... I'm feeling a little woozy. Gotta go lie down for a while now.
Be good while I'm napping.

Company Picnic
What an awesome summer day here in the Northwest!
Blame it on global warming or just good luck, but the summer here is turning out to be a beautiful one!
Plus.... our pitifully low snow-pack in the mountains in recent years was more than compensated for this last winter, so hopefully there won't be any danger of a drought this year. (But we'll see)
Anyway, back to our wonderful day today.

Independence Day
Happy 4th of July!
I hope everyone is ready to celebrate in their own personal way.... whether that be grilling up something on the barbeque, spending time with family, blowing stuff up with imported explosives or all of the above. (I'm planning on doing that last one).
Here's a little Holiday Inspiration to put you in the mood:
This image is from Gus F. Martin's self-published comic, "Crater On The Moon".
I was asked to be in his comic, and while he was taking pictures to use he wanted to re-create the flag-raising of Iwo Jima (now called Iwo To).
I was the only "model" available, so that is me in each of the soldiers' positions.
He took each one seperately (while I held a vacuum cleaner tube for the flagpole reference) and Photoshopped 'em together to make this cool homage to the historic photo.
This image was used on the T-shirts he sells to help promote the book.
If you want one (and really.. who can resist a T-shirt that says "Saving Uranus" on it?), you can email him through his site and ask him about how to get one.
Have a safe Holiday. Don't blow any fingers off!

My Life As A Cartoon
Heh!
My good buddy Technogreek posted about this on his blog the other day....
Your likeness as a "Simpsons" cartoon characture.
Moi? As a cartoon character? How tres chic! I had to try it out!
Here's me and the Hotness as typical Springfield, U.S.A townsfolk:

I think they look about right.
Thanks Simpsons Movie for making an awesome use of the internet! :)
(You can do it too. Just click "enter" and then click the link at the top to "create your Simpsons avatar")
07/04/07 - Previously I posted this picture without glasses, but the Simpson Movie site added the ability to add that feature, so I swapped out the old picture with a more accurate one.

Pimpin' Your Products
So I don't know how many people out there are actually reading this, but I got a comment today (two, actually) on my earlier post.
The cool thing is somebody left a comment.
(I like comments, feel free to leave one... unless you're going to be mean. Then I'll just delete you.)
The bummer thing is he posted a link to HIS blog to promote his product. Twice. In Spanish.
Thanks Mr. "post-an-advertisement-on-someone else's-blog" Guy.
How nice of you.
I guess I could delete but... it is a comment after all.
And besides, I'll have nothing to complain about if it was gone.
