I can't say that I've been to very many funerals.
Not that I'm hoping to attend more, mind you, but I'm just saying I don't have a lot of experience with them.
I know you wear black (or dark colors) out of respect for the dead. You don't flip out or toast the corpse in front of loved ones. Nor do you lament out loud that the deceased owed you money and now you'll never get it.
I know all that kind of stuff.
But of the few I've been too, I've usually heard some type of gospel hymn or other touching song that relates to the service (i.e. Arms of An Angel, Fire & Rain, etc...).
This doesn't seem to be the trend nowadays, according to a report from Australia.
(But then, what did you expect from a former penal colony anyway?)
Personally, when I die I'd like the following three songs played at my funeral:
"My Way" as sung by the Sex Pistols
"Damn Good" by David Lee Roth
"I'll Be Mellow When I'm Dead" by Weird Al Yankovic
... and if you think I'm kidding, I'm not.

4 things people had to say:
When I go, you have permission to dump my corpse into the ocean to be eaten by a great white shark.
Music is optional.
A Viking funeral for me, please. Float me out and light me up.
As I have previously mentioned on my blog, at my uncles funeral my GRANDMA chose to play Knock'n on Heaven's Door.
So hard not to laugh.
I have been working on a Corpse Mix Tape since then to prevent anything appalling at my funeral (without my express permission).
A Corpse Mix Tape.
I love it!
(Also a great name for a band!)
