Sweating To The Surreal

In lieu of actual content, I ran across this video and wanted to post it for your consideration:

Please feel free to leave your "WTF?!?" comments after viewing.
I'm still scratching my head about this one as well.

What's All The Hubub, Bub?

I went to see "Star Trek" this morning. It is teh awesome!
No need to give a review. If you haven't seen it yet, you must. It's the law.
'Nuff said.

To start the day, I had breakfast with some good friends and then we all headed to the theater to watch it.
Afterwards, I stopped at the hardware store before coming home.
It was a BEAUTIFUL day today, and the lawn is in much need of taming.
I picked up some motor oil for the mower and a few plants to put in my flower bed right in front of the entry door.
Then Hotness took off and mowed like crazy while I mixed up some Miracle-Gro and watered the outdoor plants. It's been such a late spring that I figured a little extra boost of "food" would probably help 'em out.

Things are coming up good... slowly, but good. The dang slugs have been munching on all the tender shoots that are poking up out of the ground, so I sprinkled slug bait around everything.
I expect to fine lots of dead, slimy carcasses in the morning. Bwa-ha-ha!
But at least the plants will have a fighting chance to grow now.

I planted some tomato seeds. I'm kind late actually getting to it in May, but we'll see. If I get some, great. If not, no harm done.
I'm planning on planting some salad greens in pots on my deck, as well. My hope is that I can pick what I need for a salad anytime I want without buying a whole head of lettuce or a bag of it and then have what I didn't need go bad in my fridge.

I FINALLY got the front tires on my car changed last night after I got home from work.
I still had my snow tires on. Every time I wanted to switch them, something would come up and I wouldn't have time or it was pouring rain when I'd get home.
Last night nothing was preventing me, so I jacked up the front end and did the ol' switcheroo on them.
Then I made a margarita and played some Guitar Hero until Hotness got home.

Hmmm.. let's see....
Oh! I bought an electric weed trimmer today. (On my second trip to the hardware store in town)
I have a big, heavy-duty, gas-powered Stihl trimmer but it's a little too powerful to use right next to the house.
On more than one occasion I've whacked the siding and made a mess. Now I have something that won't cause as much damage and Hotness can even use it if she wants.

Other than that, my week hasn't been that eventful.

I did come across a link I'll share with you though.
Do you like to see people looking ridiculous? Do you like to make fun of them?
Then check out: Look at this F#&*^%G Hipster

That's all for now.
Nothing terribly exciting, I'm afraid.
But aren't you glad I didn't have another boring post about the convention?

At A Grocery Store Near You

Yesterday Hotness and I went out and did some running around which took us out to Lynnwood at the Comic Stop.

While we were there, I said; "You haven't been inside H-mart yet. You gotta check it out."

So check it out we did. Here's what we saw:

Diggin' the squid.

These little dudes were just hanging out waiting to be purchased.
Either that, or it was a mass migration gone horribly wrong.

Mmmmm.... nothing sounds better than a slice of cooked pork's ass.

These look tasty, no?
Hold on. Let's take a closer gander at that label...

"LIVE" Red Snapper?
I think not, my friend.

Hotness pointed this out to me:
Why are there only three feet in a package, when pigs normally come with four?
Unless there's an overabundance of three-footed pigs running around on a farm somwhere.
But then if there was... I guess they wouldn't be "running" eh?

And finally, the pic of the day:
It's hard enough to tell what's in the package so let's look at the label.
This truly, is a "WTF" moment friends.
I thought this is what they use in hotdogs, but apparently you can eat them "plain".
Frankly, that cooked pork's ass is sounding much better to me now.

Run For Your Lives!

How did I miss this?

Apparently motorists were warned of a zombie attack in Austin, Texas on Thursday morning's commute.

No danger of that here, with all the cold weather we've been having.
But it makes you wonder.
Bush is out of office and back in Texas for just over a week, and then Austin has a zombie outbreak.

Hmmmm.......

Say 'Allo To My Leetle Friend!

My toe is doing much, much better.
I was able to wear a shoe on my foot all day yesterday after I changed the bandage on it.

I replaced it with this stylish one:

Trendy, no? I think my Hobbit feet add an extra special touch.

I only had to take the Vicodin that first night so I still have the rest of the bottle (all 11 remaining pills) calling to me from the medicine cabinet with their siren song of sweet, sweet pain relief.

---------------------

In other news:
Hotness and I are at home today, stranded due to the flooding that has closed off all three roads into and out of our town.
We are fine, as we sit way up on the hill away from town. So if it flooded out here, you wouldn't be reading this as you'd have problems of your own with the water.

We can get into town. Just not out of it.
I think it'll be fine (as fine as can be anyway) by tomorrow.

In the meantime, I'll be on the couch watching Rocky & Bullwinkle season one.

Later ya'll. I'm going to watch Bullwinkle pull a rabbit out of his hat.......

Faces Of Halloween Past

I loves me the Halloween!

I don't have any kids to take trick-or-treating and I live so far out in the sticks that we don't get any kids at our house.

That leaves me free to dress up and PAR-TAY when the call goes out for a Halloween get-together.

I recently dug out some photos of my previous costumes over the years.

With the big day only a week away, I thought I'd share them with ya'll to make fun of me enjoy.

Van Halen in NOT Cheesy!

Say what you will about THE BEST ROCK BAND IN THE UNIVERSE, but they are certianly not cheesy!

However this label might lead you to believe otherwise:

This story comes for the Van Halen News Desk.
Apparently one of the staff bought a container of cheese cubes at a local market and noticed that the label had some of the lyrics from "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" printed on it.

I say it's just further proof of their undeniable awesomeness!

Available At Your Local Drug Store

A couple of things I'd just like to point out in the picture below:

"Add to Target Baby"?
Really? Did NO ONE think about that link and the product they were selling?
Unless the feds are monitoring whoever would actually do such a thing, that's just ducking fumb.

And under 'Features';
"Ideal for relieving tension"

I'll bet it does. 'nuff said.

Lampshade From Hell

Got some money to burn? (Ha ha! Get it? Burn? Hell? Oh, I crack myself up sometimes.)

Anyway, if you've got some spare cash just sitting around waiting to be spent on something you could always buy this nifty limited edition lampshade by designer Luc Merx.
It's called "Fall of the Damned" and it depicts a mass of tiny little bodies all falling into the pits of Hell. Except it's a lampshade. You know... for your lamp. 'Cause that's what turns the ladies on when they come over to your place. That and all the mint condition action figures adorning your walls. Trust me, I know this.

Of course to own this little piece of art, you'll have to cought up $45,000 for it. After all, it is limited to only 40 pieces.

Wait... 45 THOUSAND dollars??? For a friggin' lampshade made out of little plastic people?!?
Dude, I can think of much cheaper ways to cover up a light and still be 'arty' about it.

The Devil's Due

Last night at the grocery store after I picked up stuff for dinner, I got in the car to head home and thought " You know, I think a drink would be nice tonight. Better pick up something for a mixer".

So I went back inside to grab a few things.
I got some cranberry juice, lime juice and a lime.
(I was planning on making some Cosmopolitans)

I realize that drinking can be bad for you, but I didn't think it was going to cost me my soul!

Chillin' With Vader

The Imperial Forces have a stern task master with Darth Vader on their side.

But it can be a lonely, thankless job for the Sith Lord when you have the entire universe afraid to look you in the face-mask.
He's a sensitive man with needs for companionship. Just like everyone else.

So I present to you..... the lighter side of the Dark Lord.

Here's Darth on his SL1 Terminatrix. A sweet ride for the man-about-town.

Taking a "pause for the cause" during a Monsters Of Rock concert.

With the new iSith phone, Vader can keep in touch with friends on the ice planet Hoth and with family on Alderaan.

While crushing rebellious forces under the boot-heel of the Empire is taxing work, there is always time to enjoy a little music. You know what they say; "Music hath charms to soothe the savage beast".

While on vacation in the Cloud City on Bespin, Darth played an April Fool's trick with the locals.
When he was there, he stayed at Lando's house, where he and fellow Imperial associate, Stormtrooper ID# 5857D391 (a.k.a "Larry") helped themselves to the fridge.

So as you can see, it's hard wearing black all the time and keeping the locals in check, but he manages to pull it off and and stay true to his self.

And if you haven't seen it yet, you need to check out "The Vader Sessions"

She Was A Stone Cold Killer

Many girls (and even a few boys) have idolized her since she rose to fame back in 1959.
But little did those youngsters know about her dark side.

Yes, I'm talking about Barbie.

She dominated the doll world by slaying her competition.
And with constant plasic surgery, no-one could pin the crime on her as they couldn't ID her in a line-up of possible suspects.

Well, her crimes have finally caught up to her and now it's time for her to face the music.
Barbie has a date to "ride the lightning". Sit on "Old Sparky's" lap.
You know.... die by electrocution.

Here's a photo of her after her arrest:

Notice the glassy stare that is typical of alcohol and drug addicts.
She's even smiling as the police haul her away, probably thinking she would still get away with her crimes.
