Today would have been Freddie Mercury's 61st birthday.
I know the day is almost over with, but I would kick myself if I didn't say a little something about him to honor him today.
Flamboyant, over-the-top, out-spoken... say what you will, but the man was a true performer and a crowd pleaser.
He knew how to keep an audience going throughout the whole concert and kept them wanting more.
Here's a little clip of him interacting with the crowd during a concert in Milton Keynes in 1982:
Here's another great performance of him interacting with the crowd during QUEEN's historic concert at Wembley Stadium in '86. You'll have to wait until about the 6-1/2 minute mark for it, though.
He not only sang in a rock band, but also performed with opera singers. To say he was talented is an understatement.
Happy Birthday Freddie. May your soul be in peace.
