I was just wasting some time while it's slow during the afternoon at work.
I found out that REI has a link on their website to help you find an organization to offer your time as a volunteer.
I did a quick search and found over 200 ways to volunteer my time within 20 miles of my home. (Imagine if I were willing to go a little further)
Heck, I found out I could spend an afternoon or evening hiding so that a Search & Rescue dog could find me as part of it's training. That sounds like fun!
Anyway, if you've been thinking of helping out, but don't know where to go or what you might be interested in, check it out.
It's Nation-wide, so you're not limited to finding something in Washington State only.
